Short Game / Chipping / PuttingGolf Digest

My Game: Tiger Woods: Episode 4: My Short Game

Goal: Develop "open-mindedness" to hit multiple shot types (high, low, cut, draw) from the same lie to save par.

The Setup

Chipping: Place two clubs on the ground as "landing spot" markers. Putting: Start with 20-30 right-hand-only putts for feel.

Instructions

  • 1. Cut Shot: Ball on left toe, open stance/face, swing left, hold left hand through. 2. High Draw: Stand further away, closed stance, open face, "throw" the hand to rotate face.
Coach's Strategy

"Hands over Body: Don't focus on chest rotation; focus on the "feel" in your hands to control the release (early, late, or dragging)."
